Saturday, 15 March 2025 AGM with accompanying programme “The Gateway to Switzerland: The Rhine Ports of Basel”
The morning was filled with a guided tour of the Basel Rhine ports and a visit to the harbour museum.
After a delicious meal and the general meeting in the Schiff restaurant, a harbour tour with two motorised harbour taxis with a view of Basel’s old town followed.

Saturday, 30 August 2025 Excursion “The alternative Jura crossing” –
The Waldenburg Railway, the Wasserfallen Railway project and the OeBB
The programme was as varied as the weather and delighted all participants.
At the Waldenburg Railway, we were given a very informative presentation on the major renovation and shown the near future of railway technology with the brand-new train control system.
The traces of the unrealised Wasserfallen Railway and the interesting explanations by Elias Vogt took us deep into the past.
At the OeBB, we saw that even a very small railway can find niches in today’s world and operate them successfully.
