Dear members of our society
The new year is already three weeks old, I hope you have got off to a good start and are looking forward to 2025 with interest. It certainly won’t be boring. On behalf of my colleagues on the Executive Board, I would like to wish you and those around you all the best for the new year and hope that our paths will cross at one or other SGEG event.
I would like to draw your attention to our Annual General Meeting, this year on Saturday, 15 March 2025.
Traditionally, on this day we always look beyond our own backyard or the top edge of the railway and focus on related topics outside our actual field of interest. This year, shipping is at the centre of our AGM programme. We will be guests at the Basel Harbour Museum, learn a lot about the history of Swiss river shipping and experience the port of Kleinhüningen at first hand as part of a guided tour. Of course, a boat trip on the Rhine is not to be missed. The AGM and lunch will take place in the historic Restaurant Schiff, also in the Kleinhüningen district.
As a member of the SGEG, you will receive the detailed programme for the supporting programme and the invitation to the AGM in good time. But perhaps you would like to mark the date in your diary in red. It’s worth it!
