Prototype and model in Brugg

The Lang family in Brugg has amassed a large collection of 0-gauge models over 80 years and several generations of the family, which they have now presented to us exclusively. The collection includes various rarities from the early days of model railways – all of them are still in working order and we were able to see some of them in operation. The second part of the excursion took us to the former depot area at Brugg station, which still has an intact round locomotive shed including a turntable. The depot area is not only largely preserved, but is currently also home to the Mikado 141R1244 association with its vehicles – including the French steam locomotive 141R 1244 and the Ae 4/7 11026. There are also plans to convert the depot area into a railway museum with the help of a foundation.
