On the sidelines of a photo tour for railway enthusiasts, the NStCM (railway Nyon – St-Cergue – Morez) opened its workshops in Nyon to interested participants on October 13, 1983.
The event perfectly matched the museum-like operation of this railway. Many machines like lathes, saws and grindstones were driven by transmission belts. The whole ceiling was full of leather belts. Nowhere was there a finger guard or a cover to be seen. A horror for today’s safety culture. Actually, it is a pity that the railway, its rolling stock, operation and the work could not be integrally preserved as an industrial archaeological monument…
