The rolling stock of the Koblenz Depot and Rail Vehicles Association (DSF)

Founded in 1995 as the Interessengemeinschaft Draisinen Sammlung Fricktal, the DSF association now looks after a veritable collection of railway vehicles after 25 years. It moved from Fricktal to the Koblenz locomotive depot in 2006 and turned the historic building into a popular meeting place for railway enthusiasts. The transformation from a collector of small trolleys to one of the leading providers of charter and special trips is remarkable and there is no longer room for all the vehicles in the historic depot area.

We from the Swiss Society for Railway History (SGEG) want to trace this unusual history and show the development of the rolling stock of the organisation, which now operates as the Koblenz Depot and Rail Vehicles Association.

Our colleagues from the DSF will share their exciting history with us as part of an exclusive one-day excursion. They will also open up the depots in the Koblenz area that are not normally accessible to the public and present their numerous passenger and goods wagon treasures. A historic Saurer motor coach is used for the transfers. A well thought-out protection concept makes the excursion a great day out on the railway for all visitor groups despite the coronavirus crisis.
