Saturday, 9 March 2024 AGM with accompanying programme in Konolfingen
In the morning, we were able to visit the depot workshop of the Bern Steam Railway, which uses the former depot workshop of the Bern Thun Railway from 1900.
After the AGM, our founding member Werner Weber guided us through the special exhibition “Railways of the Emmental” at the Alter Bären local museum in Konolfingen, which is well worth seeing.

Friday, 5 July 2024 Exclusive tour of the Grabenkeller and reception with guided tour of the St. Gallen State Archives
At the meeting point at the Grabenhalle, an unfortunately small group of eager SGEG members waited for the upcoming descent into the underworld. The tomb tunnel turned out to be more extensive than expected. Afterwards, we were able to listen to exciting talks about their work and collection in the State Archives and were able to take a tour of the endless rows of roller cabinets as well as a few tidbits of railway-related originals.
The detailed report on the tours in St. Gallen follows here.
